A Beetle & A Bike
Laid Back Exploring
Hi, I'm Naomi
I'm not a serious biker; I mean... I have a bike on the back of a VW Bug, but I am serious about the fun and joy biking gives me. I enjoy biking to explore, travel, connect with friends, and feel free.
This blog is more than just a platform for me to park my photos and write about life. It's a space where I can share my adventures, resources, and tips that I've learned along the way with my family and friends.
My end goal? I hope that one day, my three strong and adventurous granddaughters will read this blog. I want them to know that joy in life doesn't have to be complicated. It can be found anywhere. And yes, I hope they will want to go on adventures with me one day. Now THAT is something to look forward to!
So, let's pack it all in and embrace what life has in store for us all!

Ready to Ride?
Every trail on this website has been identified by trail users as easy and beginner-friendly, with smooth surfaces that are perfect for a relaxed ride. This is about enjoying the experience, not worrying about the terrain.
The link takes you straight to the best parking access point, so you don’t have to spend time figuring out where to park or unload your bike.
I hope you’ll turn your ride into a full day of exploration. I’ve used TripAdvisor to help highlight “off-bike” ideas so you can enjoy more than just the trail. Take time to explore each community—especially the downtown areas. That’s where you’ll usually find the local flavor, unique shops, and the kinds of experiences that make the trip memorable.
Before you head out, it’s always smart to do a little homework. Check trail conditions, closures, and details using:
You’ll notice that several of these are rail trails, former rail corridors turned into beautiful, accessible paths. If you want to learn more about how these trails come to life and the organization leading this work, visit the Rails to Trails Conservancy.
Now load up your bike, pick a trail, and enjoy the ride.
